Meet Your New Massage Therapist in Central PA

I have always had a natural talent for understanding systems, troubleshooting them, and repairing them. One might be surprised to meet a massage therapist like me, who also has a high level of competence in fixing cars, electronics, and computers. The human body is not much different in that it is a series of systems that work together in synergy (ideally). The musculoskeletal system is essentially a series of levers and hinges acted upon by forces - similar to the rigging on a sailboat or the cables and pulleys on a crane. Understanding the science of this, kinesiology, came easy for me. I am able to troubleshoot many issues in my client's bodies the same way a good mechanic can evaluate a car for problems.

Having been drawn to fixing things and a natural at helping people, I found my path in massage therapy shortly after working a few random jobs. Some of the positions were in construction and retail sales. I also went from being a taxi driver in the NY Metro area to an oyster-shucker in the Florida Keys! Then, I moved to Miami for massage school and obtained my license in 1994.

I have worked in Miami Beach at the world-famous Fontainebleau and Doral Hotels. I was also a part of the 2007 grand reopening of the prestigious Omni Bedford Springs Resort, where I provided massage services at the Springs Eternal Spa for several years. In the recent past, I have worked locally at ESSpa Kozmetika at the Carnegie Inn and Spa, as well as Artemis Massage Studio in downtown State College

I have over 30 years licensed experience and have worked on many Penn State athletes, students and alumni over the years. I have learned much while working at all the various positions in my career, but I am most excited to finally have my own private treatment studio in wonderful Happy Valley!
